Woodrow Williams |

|
Pastor Williams was born and raised in the Evans County
Community located in S.E. Georgia. He is a man of humble
beginnings. His father was a farmer and his mother was a
housewife until all of the children were older, then she
worked as a nursing assistant. |
|

|
Pastor Williams is a 1968 graduate of Evans County High
School, 1972 graduate of Savannah State College with a
BS in Mathematics and Physics; and a 1987 graduate of
the Morehouse School of Religion at I.T.C.
(Interdenominational Theological Center) with a
concentration in Pastoral Care and Counseling. |

Pastor Williams is the father of three children, Sonja, Jorell and Jahmeel. Pastor Williams served eleven years
as an Engineer with Georgia Power Company, the first
black to hold such a position in the Macon Division. He
then became a Staff Chaplin at University Hospital in
Augusta, Georgia where he was the first black to serve
in this position, paving the way for other black men and
women to follow. |

Pastor Williams began his local church ministry at Kelley
Chapel United Methodist Church of Decatur, Georgia as
the Minister of Youth in 1989 and was appointed as
Senior Pastor October 1, 1989, again a first. He served
in this appointment for eight years. He received more
than 300 members into the Body of Christ. His ministry
has carried him to Central America in 1993 and to the
Holy Land in 1994, 1996 and 2008. He has had the
opportunity to be the Evangelist for a multitude of
Revivals. |

Pastor Williams has formerly served on several boards and
committees: Chair of the Committee on Churches in
Changing Communities of ADOX District.; Chair of the
District Pastors of ADOX District; Conference Committee
of Church and Society; United Way Board of Advisors;
Conference Urban Action, Inc.; Griffin District Board of
Ordained Ministry; Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors
of the Wesley Foundation at Clayton College and State
University; Dean of the Board of Managers for Pastor’s
School; and the McDonough Elementary School Big Brother
Program; and Chair of McDonough Housing Authority. |

Pastor Williams currently serves on the Conference Board
of Ordained Ministry; a mentor for Ministry Candidates,
and District Board of Ordained Ministers. |

|
In 1992 Pastor Williams led the Wesley family in a 2.13
million dollar Building Project that yielded a 27,000
square feet facility. This structure was dedicated in
February 2003. Several men and women answered their call
to Ministry under his leadership with at least ten
currently serving as pastors. The membership grew from
1998 until Pastor Williams departure in 2007. He
baptized and married many. |

On June 24, 2007, Pastor Williams was appointed the senior
Pastor of Hoosier Memorial United Methodist Church in
Atlanta, Georgia. Under Pastor Williams leadership he
has started a visitation ministry and a membership care
ministry. |

Pastor Williams says, “I strive to serve where God
leads me and to do all that is asked of me.” |
